Turkish agriculture and husbandry have not been adequately yielding due to misuse of arable lands, disorganization of the agricultural businesses, inefficient organization therein, as well as inadequate extensification of education services. It has therefore been decided to found the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies to raise quality experts equipped with the necessary professional qualifications for the professions under the agricultural technologies.
There are various factors to be considered for achieving the desired yield and quality per unit area in the agricultural production. Among the most important factors is the agricultural combat supported through technological infrastructure. Smart farming practices assisted by new technology, digitalized agriculture practices, tools that can be managed remotely, current information systems, AI-assisted machines are all components of Agriculture 4.0. These practices constitute the basics of the education offered at the departments within the faculty.
Thanks to the quality education and extensive curriculum offered by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies (FAST), the faculty will be of great contribution to the new gene banks to be established as part of agricultural R&D activities in Turkey, as well as to the biotechnological and nanotechnological activities to be developed with new varieties of products, and the agriculture sector to be created for sustainable use of natural resources through use of renewable energy.
