Yaşar University Center for Information and Technology Transfer has been collaborating with the university’s Minerva Incubation Center since 2015 to support innovative ideas and entrepreneurs to facilitate conversion of the know-how and infrastructure available within the university into economic and social values.

To enhance efficiency of this support, since 2018, Yaşar University has been involved in TUBITAK 1512 Entrepreneurship Support Program where innovative business ideas developed by entrepreneurs are submitted to TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) in the form of projects.

One of the 63 interface institutions in Turkey, Yaşar University is continuing its works focusing on “Sustainable Agriculture and Nutrition”, which is one of the thematic fields of “T-BIGGY” program. The program has attracted intensive attention from Agricultural Entrepreneurs. This is thanks to the decision made by our university as an interface institution to execute the first program in Turkey focusing on the theme of circular economy, which is a technology policy focused on creating a social impact. The concept of Circular Economy is a framework policy for the technology topics intended to facilitate reuse of resources, smart supply systems, common use, energy efficiency and modular design, as well as sustainable production, clean technologies, economical and long-lived services and products. The “T-BIGGY” program intends to exhibit a wholistic approach to gather various fractions of the thinking and producing population such as students, alumni, industrial representatives, employees and public sectors by means of the innovative methodology it has adopted, while also successfully creating an ecosystem where sustainable and comprehensive solutions are developed.

A total of 12 entrepreneurs have been awarded grants worth 2 billion 400 thousand TL.
